Mike Hull in training camp. He was an undrafted rookie linebacker who led the Big 10 in tackles as a senior. His college coach at Penn State, James Franklin, called it a “travesty” that Hull wasn’t drafted.
Now with the season about to end, I visited once again with Hull on a recent early afternoon. I wanted to get some perspective now that he has been a part of the pro football world for an entire season. Granted, his impact was minimal as a rookie, rotating between the regular roster and the practice squad and, in fact, was released two different times before being recalled a few days later.
But none of this means that Mike Hull has given up on his dreams or is any less committed. In fact, he is more certain now than ever that he can make it in the NFL.
