Art in America is story of immigration, cultural exchange

It’s easy to take the place where you live for granted.

We Wilmingtonians are incredibly lucky to live in a community rich in cultural diversity. A microcosm of our great country, Wilmington’s cultural mix contributes to the unique identity of our city and region.

One of the distinctive features of the area is the wealth of cultural organizations – a result of the wisdom and forethought of successive generations. I write as a staff member of the Delaware Art Museum housing a collection that represents the passions and enthusiasms of our populace.

We are, by definition, a regional
