Art inspired by animals, landscapes

An exhibit of two- and three-dimensional works by Kim Cunningham are on display in the first floor display cases of the Jaffrey Civic Center.

A sampling of Cunningham’s ceramic vessels and wall plaques will be on view through Sept. 24.

She has a background as an illustrator and printmaker and incorporates her graphic patterns into these three-dimensional pieces. Many of them are created by actually pressing her carved block prints into slabs of clay and then shaping the slabs into sculptural forms.

The animals and landscape of New Hampshire are a constant source of inspiration, and the works on exhibit feature images of owls, turtles, fish, bears and other local wildlife.
