Mead to highlight local women in STEM fields
Mead Public Library will host a series of free events highlighting local women working in science, technology, engineering and math fields.
The events are part of Ada Lovelace Week at the library and are held in conjunction with celebrations around the world marking the achievements of women in STEM careers.
The library will host a Tea Tech Talk from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 11 in the Rocca Room, which will feature flash talks, a panel discussion and a main talk with mother-daughter engineers Martha and Katrina Barhouse, along with coffee, tea and sweet treats from Paradigm Coffee and Music.
The Tea Tech Talk will be moderated by Carolynn Lee, of Progressive Women in Sheboygan. Other
