Art Notes: New Shows at Scavenger and SculptureFest

For First Friday in White River Junction, Scavenger Gallery celebrates the Hitchcockian charm of collagists Ben Peberdy and David Powell with a reception from 5:30 to 7:30 for “Peberdy and Powell’s ‘The Birds.’” The show promises “a melange of mystery, horror, intellectual stimulation and confusion.” A typical Friday night in White River Junction. The reception also features a tasting of wines from Artisanal Cellars.

In addition, the neighboring Zollikofer Gallery hosts “To Be Determined 2.0,” an exhibition of Powell’s collage, altered photographs, digital prints and tapestries, through July 27.

SculptureFest, the annual celebration of three-dimensional art, opens Saturday at the Woodstock farm of Charlet and Peter Davenport with a reception from 4 to 7 p.m. This year’s featured sculptors are Judith Wrend and Joseph Chirchirillo.
