Much loved Shreveport artist Jerry Wray died Tuesday after a long illness, said daughter Mary Virginia Hill.

She was 92.

Wray was a nationally known artist whose career spanned more than seven decades. She was well-known in the arts community for opening Spring Lake home once a week to fellow artists affectionately known as Jerry’s Gang.

Karen K Pearce, who regularly attended the sessions, said she will forever be grateful to have been under the tutorship of Jerry Wray.
