Morning Forum series launches new season

The 68th annual Morning Forum of Los Altos lecture series is scheduled to begin Tuesday with a new slate of speakers for the fall/winter season.

Lectures are slated 10:15-11:45 a.m. the first and third Tuesdays of each month at Los Altos United Methodist Church, 655 Magdalena Ave.

Fall topics and lecturers:

• Tuesday: “Imagining North Korea,” Adam Johnson, Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist and Stanford University Phil and Penny Knight Professor in Creative Writing

• Oct. 3: “The Devil’s Diary: Alfred Rosenberg and the Stolen Secrets of the Third Reich,” Robert Wittman, former FBI agent and founder of the FBI Art Crime Team

• Oct. 17: “Americans in Paris: Impressionism and the American Experience,” Denise Erickson, professor of art history at Cañada College and lecturer at the Cantor Art Center at Stanford Uni- versity

• Nov. 7: “Real Cartoons in the Age of Fake News,” Joel Pett, Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonist

• Nov. 21: “Sowing Hope: Stories from ‘Garden of the Lost
