Paintings resonate with high realism

Two artists are featured in a new exhibition on at a Wortley Village gallery.

Margarethe Vanderpas, who specializes in Northern Ontario landscapes, and Angela Lorenzen whose high realism captures landscapes, wildlife and indoor scenes are featured in the show at Westland Gallery.

Each of the artists have “distinctive, polished styles” of working that are unique, said Danielle Hoevenaars, the gallery’s associate director.

“Margarethe and Angela have been well involved in London’s art scene for many years and this exhibition is a valuable opportunity to reconnect with them and their unique work,” said Hoevenaars.

“The enduring following of these artists is driven by the sentimental quality in their work.

“Whether a celebration of London landmarks or iconic Ontario wilderness, their work resonates from year to year with the London community.”
