PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — An independent pro wrestling company based in Philadelphia for more than a decade continues to slam industry traditions.
After applying a submission hold on male wrestler Hallowicked, Princess Kimber Lee of Chikara Wrestling is the first female to ever be named the main champion of a mixed gender wrestling company.
Mike Quackenbush is the founder of locally based Chikara.
“Things like division by gender and weight class are kind of irrelevant to the way that we perform and I think it’s more important that we start to progress the art form than continuing this sort of… this outdated rhetoric that comes from decades past.”
