‘Pure artistic creativity’ in Kvaalen’s landscapes

For decades, nearly every day, Arne Kvaalen has walked up the stairs to his third floor studio in downtown Lafayette and produced landscapes that reference his early years out West as well as his love for the scenery of Indiana.

Now, Lafayette art lovers are in for a visual treat. The local art scene icon is exhibiting his beautiful paintings and pastel drawings at Lafayette’s newest art venue, the Bindery Artist Studios at the Lafayette Printing Company, until the end of May.

The recently reworked space combines artist studios, a classroom/studio, and gallery space. This well-known artist has presented us with 13 lovely large-format landscapes that add even more brightness to this interesting gallery.
