South Bay artist remembered for her realistic paintings and big heart

From San Pedro’s iconic landmarks to a friend’s beloved late golden retriever, Debbie Marr’s paintings reflected both realistic detail and what friends said was a very big heart.

And while her work became widely known in the port town, it was tributes to the artist’s personal generosity, honesty and support of fellow artists that turned up in dozens of remembrances posted after her death Jan. 3 at the age of 58.
