Still no trial in ’10 crash that claimed NJ cop’s life

Motions and status conferences have delayed trial for the man accused of striking the officer’s Jeep with his BMW.

OCEAN GATE, N.J. — Thirty-one months have passed since Patrolman Jason Marles was killed in a fiery crash after staying late to help with his department’s drunken-driving detail.

Another car, driven by a man who would later admit to drinking and ingesting cocaine, struck the back of Marles’ Jeep early Thanksgiving morning 2010 on the Garden State Parkway. The impact from the BMW was enough to spin the Jeep out of control, off the roadway and into a guardrail
