SPRINGVILLE — VanOver Fine Arts will present Western New York native artist Dean Vigyikan, during the gallery’s next exhibition.

Vigyikan was born in Cleveland, Ohio and grew up in WNY, studying art through private instruction.

He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Since then, he has built a career in visual arts, ranging from traditional painting to digital illustration and design.

Vigyikan has recently added sculpture to his repertoire. His artwork has been collected by patrons across the United States and can be found on the covers of books, music CDs, T-shirts, magazines, advertisements and more.

The artist said that he is influenced by the work and techniques of William Adolphe Bouguereau, John Singer Sargent and John William Waterhouse.

He said that his sculptural influences include Gian Lorenzo Bernini, Antonio Canova and Auguste Rodin.

Vigyikan said that, stylistically, he is a contemporary realist, drawing upon natural subject matter.
