What to do and see in Charlotte

Atomic: The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art’s 2016 Gala, 7-11 p.m. April 8. The theme of the party coincides with last week’s opening of “The House That Modernism Built,” an exhibition celebrating modern design and aesthetic in art, furniture and installation. Tickets begin at $175; proceeds benefit the museum’s operations, including future exhibitions, programs and educational outreach efforts.
