The Willoughby Hills Community Center Art Gallery, 35400 Chardon Road, presents an opening night reception Friday, Jan. 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. The reception and gallery are free and open to the public.

The reception features wine, cheese and other refreshments. An art raffle helps raise funds for gallery operating expenses. Raffle tickets are $1.

The new exhibit features the photography of John Opie and paintings by Betty Jean Skufca. The paired show runs through March 4.

Opie is a retired historian and author. According to a gallery news release, Opie’s photography “aspires to the sublime while also celebrating the transformation of the commonplace.”
