Name: Loralee Grace

Medium: Watercolor and Gouache, also (separately) oil painting

My hometown: I was born and raised in Michigan, on a beautiful little swamp encircling a small lake. This made for a lot of magical nature encounters from the very beginning. My dad bred endangered turtles as a hobby so the swamp was an ideal location.

Education and formal training: I went to Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University and received a bachelor’s degree in painting in 2010. My high school art teacher Sharon Tabaczka was an encouraging influence in my life; she encouraged my artistic ability at a very formative age. My parents also took our family on road trips each summer, camping and hiking in national parks – this really opened my eyes to the beauty and diversity of nature at a young age.
