Year in art: The best shows of 2012 turned up in Fort Worth

Fort Worth dominated the year in visual art, with the Modern, the Kimbell and the Amon Carter museums all staging impressive shows.

Under new director Maxwell Anderson, the Dallas Museum of Art trotted out memorable exhibitions and promised free admission and free memberships starting next year.
