We’ll just go ahead and tell you now: Yes, you can buy these one-of-a-kind ape artworks, but you’ll have plenty of competition from other animal lovers to do so.

If you’re not in the market for a conversation piece like no other (“Oh yes, this piece over the mantle? Truly a new age for abstract expressionism. It’s an original Patti the Chimp”), you can still vote for your favorite painting in the Humane Society’s Chimp Art Contest.

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) launched the contest to show the abilities of great apes and spotlight the sanctuaries that care for them. The chimp artistes hail from six members of the North American Primate Sanctuary Alliance. Each sanctuary submitted a piece of art, and the public can vote on their favorite up until Aug. 22.
