Art Center celebrates still life painting

Still Life: A Moment in Time, beginning Feb. 7 at the Columbia Center for the Arts, celebrates the rich history of still life painting through contemporary artwork.

Artists include: Aimee Erickson, Eric Jacobsen, Andy Nichols, Mark Nilsson, Cathleen Rehfeld, Sally Reichmuth, Bill Sharp, Susan Sutherland, and Za Vue. A show opening and artist reception is planned on Friday, Feb. 7, from 6 to 8 p.m.

In addition to the show, Columbia Center for the Arts offers still life classes. Every Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon, artist Cathleen Rehfeld hosts a drop-in still life workshop. Bring your paints and enjoy. Cost is $20.

Also featured during the month of February is artist Sue Krigsberg. Her acrylic paintings are on display in the Nook gallery.
