Artist focusing on landscapes for upcoming show

Editors Note: The News will be profiling the 10 artists who will have their art showcased in an upcoming exhibit at New Glasgow’s new art gallery at The Celtic Circle on Forbes Street. The exhibition opening will be April 14 from 1 to 4 p.m.

 

NEW GLASGOW – Lorraine Endicott grew up in Ontario with three sisters and an artist for a mother, so she has been painting since she was very young.

“We were brought up with this idea that art is a normal thing, it’s not a weird thing,” she said, laughing. “But, I was just able to start taking it seriously about 10 years ago when I got my own studio. If you don’t have the space, it’s really difficult, it’s impossible.”

Endicott has shown her art in a gallery before, but is glad to now be able to show it in the town where she lives.
