Since 1957, the Festival of Arts has awarded scholarships in film, writing and visual and performing arts to graduating high school seniors from Laguna Beach. This year, computer art and design student Kirra Nash received the scholarship in visual arts. Awards are based on an interview, submitted work and GPA. Nash “impressed the scholarship committee with her talent, passion and dedication to the arts,” said Patricia Kollenda, chairwoman of the committee. Nash plans to attend the Laguna College of Art and Design in the fall.
