CRYSTAL LAKE –“New Visions – Landscapes from a Different Perspective,” a special art exhibit created by McHenry County Plein Air Painters, will be on display from Jan. 6 through Feb. 23 at the Prairieview Education Center, 2112 Behan Road in Crystal Lake.

An artists reception will take place from noon to 3 p.m. Jan. 27.

This exhibit is free and is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Local “plein air” (in the open air) artists capture a different view of land and nature expressed through paintings and drawings. Enjoy the beauty of McHenry County Conservation District sites through unusual artistic perspectives.

Included will be panoramic pieces developed from many individual plein air paintings encompassing 360-degree views from one standing point.
