Julianna Navarro shows off her creativity by smattering paint onto a canvas using yarn Monday at SAMFA.$RETURN$$RETURN$
SAN ANGELO, Texas —
Balloon shrapnel littered the ground and paint splattered an outside museum wall, but the canvas remained dry.
“It’s bleeding!” children yelled when a paint-filled balloon finally burst onto the canvas.
The explosion of art was only part of a special spring break camp for kids this week at the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, which put the focus squarely on the Lone Star State.
“When people think about Texas, they only think about cowboy boots, rattlesnakes and cactus,” said SAMFA’s Bekah Coleman. “They don’t think about abstract expressionism.”
