Benton’s Hilary Remm is part of big St. Louis art event

A Benton woman is one of the featured artists at an event in St. Louis Saturday.

Hilary Remm, a mixed media artist, is one of only a handful of artists whose work was chosen for Fête Event Series’ Apocalyptic Wonderland at the Contemporary Art Museum.

The thematic, curated event and pop-up boutique is described as a “transformative journey through darkness, limbo and light via performing and fine art, high fashion and music as artists of all disciplines explore what is left when all is lost.”

Remm, a 2004 graduate of Benton Consolidated High School and 2008 grad of the Ringling College of Art and Design, was one of only a handful of visual artists selected for the event from hundreds of submissions.

“It’s exciting. I’ve never been to anything like what they are planning — artists, live bands, aerialists, elaborate costumes. Some amazing talents are going to be at this event,” she said.
