Darius Hill, “What’s Your Angle, Jive Turkey?”
BIRMINGHAM, Alabama — Artwork by landscape artist Bethanne Hill and mixed-media artist Darius Hill will on exhibit at the Samford University Art Gallery in Swearingen Hall, through Feb. 24.
Bethanne Hill, a Tuscaloosa native whose works have appeared on the covers of magazines, books and CDs, studied at Alabama School of Fine Arts and Birmingham-Southern College. She has a fondness for landscapes from her native Alabama and has been influenced by the bold outlines, patterns and shapes in Aborigine art. Her paintings are done in acrylic on wood, paper or canvas.
Darius Hill is visual arts chairman at ASFA, and has exhibited throughout the region. The award-winning artist received a degree in printmaking from Atlanta College of Art, and his works are part of museum, corporate and private collections throughout the United States.
