MR SQUIGGLE meets hip-hop meets Pictionary in a game which takes creative expressionism to a new level.

Sketch the Rhyme is the interactive gameshow where artists sketch a clue and the MCs have to rap the answer.

The artists and MCs will go head to head on December 18 from 7pm at the Newtown Hotel featuring Rapaport from Big Village, Jeswon of Thundamentals and P.Smurf of Daily Meds.

Big Village Records managing director Joel Rapaport came up with the concept in 2008 as a fun way for creative artists to practise technique. “I guess there was ideas to do with battling, the technique of freestyling and the creative process,” he said.

The show involves five different word-rapping games with the crowd judging each competition.

Artist Claire Nakazawa said it’s the spontaneity of the show which keeps it so much fun.

“You have to just think on the spot,” she said.
