SINCE moving from Marrickville to Bulli in 2007, painter John Bokor’s role as father to three-year-old Arlo has caused him to turn his gaze inward from the inner-suburban streetscapes which he used to paint, to still lifes.

His vision is personal, domestic and intimate, dwelling on the familiar objects of daily life but painting them with affection for the role they play in the quiet existence he shares with his wife Kirstin and their “very energetic” son

Bottles, vases, pencils, mobile phones, teapots, lolly jars, fruit and boiled eggs
