LEOMINSTER — The Leominster Art Association will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Congregational Church of Christ, 583 Main St.
The January demonstrator will be watercolor artist Kathryn Swantee. Her technique is realistic but also incorporates the abstract qualities unique to watercolor within the realism.
Swantee’s recent focus has been on flowers, but she has also done landscape and portrait work. She is starting a new series of bird paintings.
After high school, Swantee attended Lowell University for two years and then transferred to the School of the Worcester Art Museum in Worcester. She has enjoyed a wide array of creative pursuits, though watercolor is her medium of choice. Swantee’s prints and card sets are now available in three retail outlets as well as through her website.
There is a $5 guest fee for nonmembers that may be applied toward membership.
