This winter, the Grade 7 / 8 students from Mountain View Public School took part in a program called Artists in Education. For twelve weeks students worked with local visual artist Taimi Poldmaa of Berkana Art Studio to create landscapes on canvas. As it turned out, some exceptional winter weather prevented the class from physically getting out and exploring so Taimi switched to Plan B. She introduced the students to the work of the Group of Seven through books and online resources. They studied colour, the use of colour and their final assignment was to recreate one of the Group of Seven landscapes. The results were inspiring.

As luck would have it for Mountain View Public School, local writers, photographers and adventurers
