ELKHART — The Midwest Museum of American Art continues its speaker series for “Gardens, Rivers Lakes: The American Landscape of Leisure.”
Speakers are at noon every Thursday. Diane Overmyer of Wakarusa and David Allen of South Bend kicked off the series. Additional Michiana artists scheduled to speak are:
- May 1: Mark Vander Vinne of Porter, traditional landscape artist
- May 8: Susie Russell of Milford, known for traditional approach to architectural elements placed in the landscape
- May 22: Kristin Hosbein of St. Joseph, Michigan, oil, acrylic and encaustics
- May 29: Laurie Schirmer Carpenter of Valparaiso, Midwest landscape painter
- June 5: Daniel Slattery of South Bend, renowned Northern Indiana watercolorist and former president of the Northern Indiana Artists group
- June 12: Cathy McCormick of Granger, Midwestern pastel artist
- July 10: Dawn Barrier of South Bend, idyllic views of landscapes
