The paintings of Westfield artist and teacher Barbara McElheny will be on exhibit at the Westfield Memorial Library through March. The library is located at 550 East Broad St.

The exhibit features oil paintings of landscapes and people. Some of the paintings gracing the Iibrary’s Internet Lounge are of the Blarney stone, the Sicilian coastline, a family enjoying a meal in the countryside, and a chance encounter between a man and a woman.

McElheny was first introduced to oil painting at age 14 as a student at the Brooklyn Museum of Art. She continued on her artistic path and earned her BFA at the School of Visual Arts in
