Showing his paintings at Redlands Community Hospital is not that much of a stretch for artist Tony Radcliffe, who worked as a physician for more than 30 years.
He will be one of six award-winning artists to participate in the hospital foundation’s “Evening with the Artists” fundraiser from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 19, in the Stan and Ellen Weisser Education Pavilion.
Radcliffe will present a series titled “Scenes of Redlands,” featuring views of a number of the city’s iconic buildings and picturesque vistas.
“Since childhood, I have been haunted by the beauty of Redlands,” Radcliffe wrote in a brochure highlighting his Redlands collection. “There is no shortage of vistas nor unique scenes to inspire my imagination.”
The artist grew up in Rialto and settled in Redlands a quarter century ago. Much of the local architecture intrigues him and he is drawn to depict the wide streets and park scenes, he said.
