Rural landscapes on display at The Ship Inn in Milford – Hunterdon County Democrat

Paintings of rural landscapes will be on display at The Ship Inn, 61 Bridge St. in Milford, Tuesday, April 2 through Sunday, June 2. The featured artist if Joan Polishook. The display is title “Seasonal Landscape.”

A plein air painter, Polishook is inspired by rural landscape, enjoying outdoor painting in areas familiar to many. Her love of the countryside prompts her to paint fields, trees, old barns, waterscapes and plant life in oil and acrylic, at all seasons of the year.

Educated in New York City schools, the artist who has a bachelor’s degree in fine art, has been painting since childhood. She is a retired elementary school teacher currently residing in Lords Valley, Pa. The artist is the founder and coordinator of a plein air group, Come Paint With Me, now in its sixteenth year.
