But just when you think you know the impressionists, along comes Paul Durand-Ruel.
Who? Well, he’s the guy who dedicated his life to making all those other names eye-rollingly familiar. He’s kind of the fifth Beatle of impressionism.
He was an art dealer who took on the mission of promoting the artists eventually known as impressionists.
