Student life: why are naked calendars still considered acceptable?

Of course there is an element of philanthropy involved and I applaud anyone
who raises money for charity. Even more so, I applaud those who do something
I don’t think I could do myself; climb a mountain, swim across a sea, cycle
from London to Paris, that sort of thing.

But getting naked? Everyone can do that. Not everyone would want to, but
everyone can. And sex sells. It sells very well. So frankly, isn’t taking
your clothes off in front of a camera, dare I say it, a rather lazy way of
making money? We are supposed to be the brightest young things that this
country has to offer; can we not think of something a little more
innovative?
