This week Upper Moreland Patch looks at the different forms of artwork produced by students in the Upper Moreland School District. There are a variety of different types of drawings and paintings done by various age groups of students.

Students were introduced to acrylic paints for the first time during this project. In addition to creating a good composition students learned how to start an acrylic painting with a good underpainting layer.
This paint layer, usually brown or blue, is the foundation or the skeletal structure of a painting because it helps the artist lay a wide range of values beneath the skin and flesh or colors of the painting.
