EDMONTON – Furniture streaming out and vintage French doors coming off their hinges can only mean one thing in the House of Boom: it’s time for another pop-up art show.

Jon Pelster’s residence on the edge of Mill Creek Ravine is a place of ridiculous creativity — he’s a carver and jewelry-maker himself — and the place is known for its invented-on-the-spot backyard Olympics and coed street hockey in the Shamrock Curling lot nearby. As to why he occasionally turns this century-old, two-storey home into a rebel gallery space, Pelster’s answer is simple: “Why not?�

Zimbabwe-born sculptor Shumba Ash has shown here, and University of Alberta grad Lisa Rezansoff is scheduled soon. But this weekend it’s Mark Feddes’s turn again. Feddes
