The Normal Heart
Larry Kramer’s unabashed indictment of the politics surrounding the early days of the AIDS epidemic debuted in 1985 and is no less surprising or powerful almost 30 years later. In this largely autobiographical play, Ned Weeks is a lone voice shouting into the darkness about what he sees happening to his friends and community. His warnings erupt into all-out fury as everyone from government leaders to healthcare providers ignore the mounting crisis. Following a now legendary reading by the Suncoast AIDS Theatre Project last season, freeFall reassembles much of the same cast including freeFall Artistic Director, Eric Davis as “Ned Weeks.” Runs from January 25-February 26. Tickets range from $26-$44 for adults and $20-$32 for children. Show starts at 8pm. Freefall Theatre, 6099 Central Avenue.
